  cykopath :: random stuff

07.28.01  ::  jokes added: little Johnny, rednecks...
Added some more jokes. Don't go expecting originals here... this is kind of my shrine to something I hold highly... corny jokes. We got a Little Johnny one, a redneck one, some anagrams and some more.  ::go_here::
07.27.01  ::  Just got Akira
I remember seeing this in high school and thinking it was almost as good ar Robotech. The DVD released by Pioneer is pretty cool if lacking some extra features (director's commentary, etc). I also found out there's a Special Edition with all the extra stuff added to it, 2 discs no less! Glad to see someone offering a no frills version along with a soecial ed. Consumers deserve to have the choice. ::go here::
07.26.01  ::  Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
There really is no better way to exlain this except to say, "Wheeeeeeee" I found this on BBSpot's daily links. Plain wierdness can often be the best kind of humor. ::go here::
07.17.01  ::  Say hi to Peter Pan... he's single ladies...
Wow... Hey kids, check out Peter Pan! On second thought, parents don't want their kids near this guy. I like the quote "I'm 47, Single, and I live in Tampa Florida... just in case Tinkerbell is trying to find me!" Single!?? You?! But how?? Oh yeah, I think he's got a little bit of Tinkerbell in him already... Hey, don't forget to check out the fashion page! ::go here::
07.16.01  ::  Gorrilaz... at least it's a sort of mellow song...
I caught this on MTV yesterday morning as I was flipping by and the video made me stop and watch. Pretty cool cartoon. I think I've heard the song before, not exactly sure where, but it's familiar.. ::go here:: (1.7 mb)
07.14.01  ::  jokes added... laugh dammit!
Added some more jokes. Don't go expecting originals here... this is kind of my shrine to something I hold highly... corny jokes.  ::go_here::
07.10.01  ::  annie are you ok, are you ok, are you ok annie?
I guess it's not suprising I have the guitar track from Alien Ant Farm's remake of Smooth Criminal going through my head these days. When I heard the Michael Jackson version oh so many years ago, it got stuck in my noggin too!  ::go_here::
07.08.01  ::  Direct hit...
While I don't generally go to Daily Radar as much as I'd like, I am beginning to frequent their Direct Hit sections much more often. It has all the irreverent geek humor of the gone but not forgotten PC Accelerator (PCXL) mag ans site.
07.03.01  ::  Finally, snatch comes out on DVD
Talk about a great movie. If you haven't seen it or Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels, do it. It's worth the time spent. Guy Ritchie tells a great story with a cool soundtrack, colorful characters, fast witty dialogue and a real clever plot.  ::go_here::  ::review::
07.02.01  ::  Added joke section (for real this time...)
So I lied last time I mentioned a joke page. I figured, I keep getting all the same jokes all the time, I may as well aschive them somewhere other than my computer. Why not use up someone else's drive space, right? Hell yeah, I say. Look, laugh and stop thinking I'm a dirty liar.  ::go_here::
07.01.01  ::  Moulin Rouge's back.... damnit!
Well, at least this time it's nothing about soul sistas. No, now I have the Kidman redoux of Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend, a.k.a "Sparkling Diamonds" running through my head. Pretty sweet song actually, it just get's old the 239th time through your head. ::go here:: (1.2 mb) (...and no, I'm not gay)
06.29.01  ::  homage to a roommate...
Many moons ago, I moved to VABeach. As a sort of celebration of my arrival and impending birthday, my roommate and I threw a friendly little party for our nearest and dearest. This would prove to be one of the last times my roomie got pretty blitzed. You can see why in this tribute to my drunk dancing machine roomie. ::go here::
06.25.01  ::  Cosmic friends here to save your ass!
OK, so I haven't read this whole page yet, I get laughing too hard and am forced to quit due to the pain. Check out this whacky alien-lovin' cultist site. They talk about aliens walking among us, anal probes and even some cattle mutilation. Well, not all of that was true, but it's still funny. Too bad they don't have a gustbook! ::go here::
06.21.01  ::  At last... Robotech on DVD!
Saw on Slashdot that Robotech has just been released on DVD on robotech.com. Finally. If you want better picture quality and original Japanese dialogue, check out this other group remastering the Macross series. ::here::
06.10.01  ::  Finally, a song in my head I can blissfully enjoy...
While I have to say, the movie Magnolia really did nothing for me, Aimee Mann's Oscar-nominated song "Save Me" really impressed me. The song is pretty mellow while the lyrics are pretty strong. It has a pleasant melody and I can dance to it... err maybe sway to it... Anyway, the beat and chorus have been in my head the past couple days... ::go here:: (requires free login) here for high speed connections.
06.08.01  ::  I take it back, Pearl sucks... Tora! Tora! Tora! kicks ass
Purchased Tora! Tora! Tora! on DVD today and after watching it, all I want to know is why didn't Brukheimer and Bay just remake this? I mean, compared to this 31 year old movie, the new Pearl Harbor movie blew! Yeah, the effects were better of course, but the movie on the whole simply doesn't stack up. I also reviewed the new one... ::go here::
06.04.01  ::  Shaggy's gone... damn you Lady Marmalade...
Ok, so Shaggy's out of my head. You know why? Because damn Christina Aquilera, Mya, Lil Kim, Pink, Missy Elliot and God knows how many other female singers had to go and make that damn Lady Marmalade remake for Moulin Rouge... ::go here:: and feel my pain... Also added Moulin Rouge review. ::go here::
